Cinco de Mayo with Vic N’ the Narwhals

Latin psychsurf quartet Vic N’ the Narwhals spent Cinco de Mayo at the Larimer Lounge sandwiched between Chilean-folk trio Kiltro and Denver dance party revolutionaries Los Mocochetes. The Denver-based garage rockers are riding the waves of the release of their debut full-length album Lágrimas de Agave (Tequila Tears), which is available for streaming on Spotify and SoundCloud.

Guitarist/keyboardist Victor Hernandez met guitarist Emanuel Montoya and guitarist Sergio Castorena at a Growlers show in Boulder, and bassist Mateo Lozano after getting into some legal trouble. The band formed in 2015, playing their first show at Mutiny Information Café in early 2016 before having decided on a name.

This July, the group will be playing the Underground Music Showcase for the third year in a row. The UMS show will serve as a kick-off for their first tour, a seven-stop cruise through Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

Catch Vic N’ the Narwhals with Omni on May 20th at Globe Hall and on June 6th with Reverend Deadeye at Hi-Dive
