Huntington Beach, CA – Singer-songwriter David Rosales has teamed up with The Boot to premiere his new video “Too Young to Know Better” today! “Too Young to Know Better” is the visual counterpart to a track that originally released off of Rosales’ EPAlong The Way on June 17th. Reminiscent of artists such as Ryan AdamsAmos Lee, and Brett Dennen, Rosales shakes things up with a broad sonic palate rooted in American folk, blues and country. Rosales’ sophomore solo EP, Along the Way, was recorded with the help of NightOwl Recorders’ producing partners, musicians and friends, Matt Grundy & Paul Clark (Donavon Frankenreiter). The EP begins with the first single, “Too Young to Know Better.” With a serene, dream-folk vibe and a touch of country, the track swings into the EP’s uptempo and sun-soaked second single “Slice of Heaven,” featuring an infectious, fun-loving pop hook. Building momentum over the course of Along the Way‘s eclectic array of 7 seamless tracks, Rosales wraps-up the EP by showing his teeth in the gritty blues-driven third single, “Crashing Down.”

Rosales has been on a whirlwind of tour dates since the release of Along the Way, highlighted by a charity benefit with Sea Wolf and featured showcase at Toronto’s NXNE Festival during his Canadian & U.S. East Coast swing.  The remainder of Summer will see Rosales playing through his home state, which includes a special performance with Grammy-winning Bluegrass band, Steep Canyon Rangers.  Behind a college radio campaign this coming Fall, Rosales will be back on the road where he will be touring through much of Canada and the U.S.

Last we heard from Rosales was in 2013, when he was out on the road and in the vineyards of California playing with his Americana duo,David & Olivia, as they were promoting their debut EP On the Sea. In the year prior, we were introduced to him via his debut solo release, Smile.

“I find that I get really creative and catch a writing bug around the Fall,” explains Rosales, “I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s that I was born around that time, but I just get into this writing groove and settle in with a good batch of songs.”

This past Fall was no different, as he holed up at home in Huntington Beach, CA with a pen, notebook, guitar and his voice and began to write. After a month of writing and organizing, Rosales came up for air and began fine tuning the songs during live performances.

“I’m a big believer in sussing material out in a live setting,” says Rosales. “I’m forced to commit to playing or singing a part that I might be on the fence about in a certain way. It’s very instinctual at this point. I can immediately tell what works and what doesn’t. The audience never lies.”
