ORNIMENTAL VS. GROOVEY.TV’S THE GAUNTLET INTERVIEW SERIES

(Rules of The Gauntlet: The artists (In this case Fort Lauderdale Heavy Rock band Ornimental) is sent a butt ton of  questions ranging from standard to stupid  from which they must choose  at least  12 to answer and return them to us with a minimum of tear stains).

Tell me about your new album. the writing, vibe, production/producers, etc.
Danny Perry- Its a totally evolved band, were using all sorts of instruments we’ve never used before the Orchestra is something I love and its influence also plays a role,  were adding lots of harmonies, acoustic guitars, foreign instruments, a choir etc.
The vibe kind of fluctuates, its kind of an emotional rollercoaster each song has its own emotion. Your gonna be feeling everything.
Why do you make your style of music? Why not polka? or Japanese symphonic metal? or..?
Danny Perry- Metal is just what we all love. It allows us to get our point across, as much as polka or symphonic metal sounds its just not us. At the end of the day its always gonna be metal  who knows maybe one day we’ll give it a shot.
What exactly is “going apeshit?
Danny Perry- I’ve been bruised, scarred, and even thrown up on stage just to put myself in the point to be extreme most importantly scream at the crowd.
Ariel- Its jumping off the drum set and landing on your knees, its almost throwing your back out while running around on stage, its drooling on your guitar and getting spit caught in your hair because you are just so lost in the music you just don’t care anymore…
Whats the stupidest thing you have ever heard someone say?
Danny Perry- Isn’t Metallica is a Video game?….
Peace or freedom? (you can’t have both) why?
Danny Perry- There’s a loop whole to that question because when you find true peace, you find freedom not only in your life, but in yourself.
Ariel- Being free is not enough, your still able to lose yourself. I choose piece.
Whats the last song you heard before this interview?
Danny and Ariel- The theme song for DOWNTON  ABBEY.
Why should people experience your music?
Danny Perry- Sure, Ornimental is a Rock band in the end of the day, but what makes us different is the fact the we experiment with other genres and other types of music dramatically. No linear, safe zone crap people keep seeing from other bands. I want people to listen to an adventure of sounds not just on the heavy side, but with softer sounds and everything in between. Our first record is super raw, and has the garage feel to it. The record we’re writing now is going to be the direction we’ve been working hard to have. Can’t wait for everybody to see what we have in stock!
Describe your face.
Danny Perry – 2 eyes, a nose, a mouth, with a some skin over it. I know, pretty unique right?
If you could accomplish one thing in a music career what would it be? when you achieve that will you quit?
Danny Perry – Head line Madison Square Garden. Seriously, You play the Garden, You can pretty much play anywhere in the whole world. Also, No what the heck? Everything is a beginning of a new journey. Always bigger places to play!
Ariel- definitely play Wembley stadium or be on Saturday night live. theres no quitting in me I’m doing this forever
Would you accept 1 million dollars now to give up any and all music forever? if not what is your price?
Danny Perry – Just no no no! That is all, there’s no price for what I love.
Ariel – No I would not! there is no amount of money in the world that would get me to quit music.
What really pisses you off?
Danny Perry – When people have an outrageously huge ego. For what? We are all so small in this universe. We think that some talent made us a little bigger? In the end of the day its all ok because nothing humbles a person more than a good heartache from life.
Ariel- When people don’t appreciate old music it really grinds my gears.
Worst thing ever eaten?
Danny Perry – My grandma had the great idea to add cauliflower in my Mac n Cheese, which is my all-time favorite meal, and expected me not to notice. So, I ate it and it was the strangest, worst meal I’d ever had. She did make amazing meals though, but that one attempt to have me eat veggies was just a disaster. What a tragic day for Mac n Cheese right?
