Grammy-nominated artist and globally known producer and DJ, Paul Van Dyk, played Beta Nightclub in Denver on Thursday, June 6, 2013 to a packed house. Sporting his record label, VANDIT, on the front of his shirt, Paul Van Dyk began to spin dance beat after dance beat upon the crowd at about 12:30 a.m. Song after song, new and old, kept the crowd dancing ‘til close to 2 am.
Amid the crowd of dancers, were lasers, lights, smoke and explosions of paper confetti chunks. Above Paul Van Dyk’s DJ platform were open curtains to the above adjoining Beatport Lounge, where dancers could be seen enjoying the other sounds of the night. Once Paul Van Dyk took stage, the Beatport Lounge withered of people, as they flocked to the main room to hear the legendary sounds of Paul Van Dyk.
Beta Nightclub is designed to complement the DJ and nightlife experience, as well as be as environmentally friendly as possible, and it was a great experience to see and hear Paul Van Dyk at this intimate venue. And on a personal side note, the crowd is not as young as other electronic dance crowds, therefore creating a more relaxed, and old-school dance club vibe.
Within Paul Van Dyk’s career span, he has sold more than 3.5 million albums, has been twice voted the world’s number one DJ by DJ Magazine, has had his work featured in video games, movie soundtracks and campaigns, has re-mixed many high-profile artists, and consistently sells out festivals and shows.
